history

Kundalini Yoga is over 5000 years old & originated India. It is a 'raj yoga' which means 'royal yoga' reserved as a tool of power for the elite and kept secret. It was not taught outside India until Yogi Bhajan, a master of Kundalini Yoga, brought it to the USA in the late sixties. From the early secretive ways of dealing with Kundalini Yoga in India, Yogi Bhajan introduced it to the West as a comprehensive spiritual concept for personal growth. It became the yoga for the 'householder', i.e. for the normal people who besides practicing yoga would also have to 'hold house', i.e. earn a living in  normal day to day life.

Kundalini Yoga can be easily integrated into the daily lives of 'normal' people... we do not need to become monks in order to practice and benefit from Kundalini Yoga.

"The Kundalini experience does not mean you have gone into a deep breathless trance and are beyond this world... it integrates you more fully with reality and gives you a broader vision and sensitivity so that you can act more efficiently."
Yogi Bhajan
