what is kundalini yoga?

Yoga is one of the oldest personal development systems in the world. The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit word 'yug' meaning to yoke, to unite, to bring together and to balance mind, body and soul; the body being the vehicle, the mind the driver and the soul our true identity.

In the turbulent 21st century day and age, Kundalini Yoga is a valuable tool in our toolbox for life to counteract and efficiently deal with daily stress factors. Kundalini Yoga can help to rebalance the endocrine (glandular) and strengthen the nervous systems. In addition, it will boost the immune system. It can also activate the brain, help you to gain breath control and awareness, balance the body in a way that it automatically releases stress, sharpens your intuitive powers so that you stay centered & connected allowing you to rediscover inner peace & oneness.

In comparison to some other forms of yoga, Kundalini Yoga has the advantage of  'meeting you where you are' and taking you to 'your' potential. There are many different forms of yoga and in some genres the asanas/positions tend to be quite difficult and are often held for a long time. Kundalini Yoga offers you the chance to practice to your specific capacity, its techniques take less time and still work faster and deeper. If you can breathe and move your body, you can do Kundalini Yoga. Therefore almost everybody can practice and benefit from Kundalini Yoga irrespective of religion, condition or age. The beauty of Kundalini Yoga is that you experience it, an experience that no words can replace.

With regular practice one can develop a heightened awareness of what is happening inside of you physically, emotionally and spiritually. As this awareness increases, your intuitive skills increase and you gain more control over how you respond to the world, events and people around you. Kundalini Yoga helps to shift negative behaviour patterns, helps to balance head and heart, taming the mind and the emotions, so we can be in control of ourselves rather than constantly being bowled over by feelings and negative thinking.
